National Health Insurance Card / Medical Record / Healthcare Professional or Technician Certificate (Competent authority: Ministry of Health and Welfare)

Question:
After I change to the new UI No., will I need to take the initiative to change the information on my certification as a healthcare professional or technician? Or will it be done automatically? If I institute the change, will there be a fee to pay? Who can I contact about any related questions?
Answer:
1. You need to take the initiative to change the information on your certification as a healthcare professional or technician. Since it only needs to be noted on the original certificate, there will not be any charge. But if the original certificate has been laminated, and it cannot be inscribed on, then you will need to have it reissued, and that will cost NT$1,500.

Question:
After I change to the new UI No., will I need to change my NHI Card? Will I have to pay a fee for this? Who can I contact about any related questions?
Answer:
1. If you choose to continue to use old UI No. to enroll in National Health Insurance, you can still use your original Health Insurance Card. If you use new UI No. to enroll in National Health Insurance , you must change your old UI No. of National Health Insurance to new UI No. and replace original Health Insurance Card with the new one via website, post office or the counter(a cost of 200 NTD is required).

After I change to the new UI No., will my NHI information be automatically changed? Who can I contact about any related questions?
Answer:
1. The UI No. in your NHI information will not be automatically changed. If you wish to have it changed, you can contact the National Health Insurance Administration to have this done

Question:
I have already changed to the new UI No., but I previously used my original UI No. to apply for my Alien Citizen Digital Certificate. Can I use that old Alien Citizen Digital Certificate to check my previous and latest NHI information? Who can I contact about any related questions?
Answer:
1. If you have not changed your NHI Card to your new UI No., you can still use the Alien Citizen Digital Certificate obtained with your old UI No. for accessing the National Health Insurance Administration’s “Personal NHI information network Services” to conduct a check of your personal NHI information.
2. If you have already changed your NHI Card to your new UI No., then when you go to the National Health Insurance Administration’s “Personal NHI information network Services” to conduct a check of your personal NHI information, you will need to use an Alien Citizen Digital Certificate obtained with your new UI No., and will not be able to use an Alien Citizen Digital Certificate obtained with your original UI No.

Question:
After I change to the new UI No., will I be able to use the new number to log in to my NHI Express app? After logging in, will I be able to access my previous information? Who can I contact about any related questions?
Answer:
1. If you wish to use the new UI No. to log in to the NHI Express app, you must apply to change your NHI information and reissue a NHI card with the new UI No. first, then register to use the app with the NHI card bearing the new UI No., and after logging in you will be able to access your past information.

Question:
Will my case and medical records be cross-checked after I change to the new UI No.? Who can I contact about any related questions?
Answer:
Yes, they will be cross-checked. After you change to the new UI No., medical institutions will be able to access medical information entered under your original UI No. in the NHI MediCloud System. As a member of the public, you will also be able to use the My Health Bank service to access your medical information entered under your original UI No. For inquiries about this, call 02-2706-5866 ext. 2680 (Ms. Chen).

Question:
After I change to the new UI No., will there still be a record of appointments I previously made with my original UI No.? Who can I contact about any related questions?
Answer:
Because medical institutions use different
appointment registration systems, whether or
not a record of an appointment you made with
your original UI No. can be checked after you
have changed to the new UI No. will depend
on the system designed by each institution
and its information equipment supplier. If you
have any question about an appointment, we
suggest you inquire directly to the institution
concerned.

Question:
After I change to the new UI No., can I use the new number to pre-order face masks? Who can I contact about any related questions?
Answer:
1. Yes, you can. No matter whether or not you have changed your NHI Card to the new number, you just need to have registered to be able to pre-order face masks.

Question:
After I change to the new UI No., can I still collect face masks that I have previously ordered with the original UI No.? Will my previous purchasing record still exist? Who can I contact about any related questions?
Answer:
1. To collect face masks that you pre-ordered online with your original UI No., enter the delivery number and your original UI No. at the convenience store’s multi-function kiosk and print out a receipt, then take this to the counter to collect the masks. The record of your past purchases will still exist, but you will not be able to access it with your new UI No. We suggest that you log in to the mask pre-ordering system on the eMask website, select “Payment Inquiry (Quick query version)”, enter your original UI No., and you will be able to access details of your old orders and purchasing record.
