Korean Cheerleading star Lee Dahye Gets her Employment Gold Card

Since her first arrival to Taiwan in April last year as a cheerleader for the CPBL, she amazed the public and has been loved by many Taiwanese fans. With her superb dancing skills, sweet voice and her friendly charm, Lee Dahye received numerous endorsements and promoted Taiwan’s sport industry through her cheerleading performance. With her success and popularity, many other Korean cheerleaders also came to Taiwan to develop their career.
Lee Dahye applied for Employment Gold Card to create for herself more opportunities to get in touch with Taiwanese fans and to spread out her career activities without any worry. Till the end of June this year, a total of 10,434 Employment Gold Cards have been issued, of which the profession of culture and art was 6%.
Ms. Susan Su, Director of the Taipei City Service Station, NIA, said that compared with Aliant Resident Certificate, holders of Employment Gold Cards enjoy 5 more major benefits: 1. To own open personal work permit for a certain period of time; 2. If being first time in Taiwan, holder who meet certain qualifications and whose income exceeds NT$3 million can apply for a 50% tax reduction within 5 tax years; 3. Spouses and children of card holder may apply for residence as dependent. Parents and grandparents may apply a visit visas, which can be extended to a maximum of 1 year; 4. By staying in Taiwan for 3 consecutive years, with an average stay of more than 183 days per year, card holder may apply for permanent residence. By obtaining a doctorate degree from Taiwan, the applicant may reduce 1 year of stay; 5. Card holder and the dependent family can directly join the National Health Insurance, skipping the 6-month waiting period.
Lee Dahye said it was great to hear that her parents can apply for multiple-entry visa to visit her many times in 1 year. Now she will have the opportunity to obtain Taiwan’s permanent residence in 3 years. She said, now I will continue to stay in Taiwan and do more work and activities that I want.
