The NIA is responsible for managing the entry and exit of migrants. Service centers are set up in all municipalities to handle the application, review and issuance of certificates or transfer of applications for entry, stay, residence and registered permanent residence of people from mainland China, Hong Kong and Macao, as well as nationals without household registration in Taiwan . These centers also manage cases of extensions of stay, residence and permanent residence of foreigners. We aim to provide friendly and timely local services.

Additionally, in response to the rapid development of cross-strait exchanges, the NIA has promoted several online application services, including conditional visa-free entry to Taiwan of people from Southeast Asian countries, entry permits for Hong Kong and Macao residents, and entry permits for people from Mainland China visiting Taiwan for tourism, medical care, education, professional and business exchanges. After completing the online application, the permit can be printed directly online.
