After the new UI No. is issued, will my original membership of a civil association (or cooperative) be affected? Will I need to contact the Ministry of the Interior to change my membership information?
Answer:
Your membership will not be affected, and you will not need to contact the Ministry of the Interior about changing your membership information. In conducting matters relating to civil associations and cooperatives, the only time this touches on a foreign national’s UI No. is when our office checks the identity of the person or persons initiating a civil association and cooperative, and checks the submitted photocopy of an initiating foreign national’s ARC to confirm that they are qualified to reside in Taiwan.
