Answer:
Yes, you will need to. After you change to the new UI No., you will need to go to the post office to change your account information, and must show your newly issued ARC, but will not have to pay any charge. After I change to the new UI No., can I still use a ticket for public transport (such as train, bus or high-speed rail) that I booked using my original UI No.? Also, when I go to a convenience store to collect my ticket, will I need to input my new UI No. or my original one?
Answer:
1. Train tickets:
(1) Foreigners can use their passport number or their new or original UI No. to book tickets.
(2) After completing the online ticket booking, you can use whichever UI No. you input at the time of booking to collect the ticket from a convenience store.
2. Bus tickets:
(1) Foreigners can use their passport number or their new or original UI No. to book tickets.
(2) After completing the online ticket booking, you can use whichever UI No. you input at the time of booking to collect the ticket from a convenience store.
3. HSR tickets:
(1) Foreigners can use their passport number or their new or original UI No. to book tickets.
(2) After you have used your passport number to book a ticket through the online booking system or the T Express app, if you choose to collect the ticket from a convenience store, please input your passport number or whichever UI No. you input at the time of booking for collection.

Question:
After I change to the new UI No., will I be able to use the new number to check the record of ticket bookings (e.g. for train, bus and HSR tickets) that I made previously using my old number?
Answer:
1. Train tickets: The new UI No. cannot be used to check the record of past bookings made using the original number. If you want to check, please do so using the original UI No. or passport number you used at the time of the booking.
2. Bus tickets: The new UI No. cannot be used to check the record of past bookings made using the original number. If a foreigner uses their passport number to register as a member in the online booking system, they can check the booking record or use the online credit card transaction record.
3. HSR tickets: Foreigners can use their passport number or their new or original UI No. to book tickets through the HSR online booking system or with the T Express mobile ticket purchase app. Please also use the passport number or new or original UI No. when you check your booking record.

Question:
After I change to the new UI No., will I be able to purchase tickets for public transport (such as trains, buses and the HSR) in convenience stores?
Answer:
1. Train tickets: Foreigners can use their passport number or their new or original UI No. to book tickets in convenience stores.
2. Bus tickets: Foreigners can use their passport number or their new or original UI No. to book tickets in convenience stores.
3. HSR tickets: There is no need to input either a UI No. or a passport number when purchasing HSR tickets in a convenience store.

Question:
Who can I contact if I have any questions about using my new UI No. to book tickets for public transport (including trains, buses and the HSR)?
Answer:
1. Train tickets: Please contact Taiwan Railways Administration Customer Service Center at 0800-765-888 (local calls only) or 02-2191-0096 (local calls or mobiles).
2. Bus tickets: Please contact the bus company you wish to book tickets with.
3. HSR tickets: Foreigners do not need to input a UI No. when purchasing HSR tickets. If you have any other questions, you can visit the website of Taiwan High Speed Rail Corporation at http://www.thsrc.com.tw and can choose to ask your question by email, SMS customer service, or the customer service hotline.7.
Question:
After I change to the new UI No., can I continue to use my driver’s license that I applied for with my original UI No.? Who can I contact about any related questions?
Answer:
1. After you change to the new UI No., you can go to the Motor Vehicles Office to apply to change your license number, as prescribed by law. Provided the license has not already expired, you can renew it free of charge.
2. If your license has already expired when you apply for the change of number, you must pay the NT$200 for renewal your driver license number.
3. License renewal requirements: At the Motor Vehicles Office you must present your ARC, your original license, and a passport-style 1-inch glossy color photograph of yourself taken within two years, (front-facing, head and shoulders, plain background, no head covering, and showing features clearly), which must not be a composite photo.

After I change to the new UI No., will I need to make any alteration to my compulsory automobile liability insurance? Or will it be automatically altered? Will I have to pay any fee for the alteration? Who can I contact about any related questions?
Answer:
1. After the change of UI No., please go to your insurance company’s website and download the compulsory insurance e-certificate for insurance as amended to the new number. There will be no charge for this.

Question:
After I change to the new UI No., will I need to make any alteration to my vehicle license? Or will it be automatically altered? Will I have to pay any fee for the alteration? Who can I contact about any related questions?
Answer:
1. Because there is no UI No. on the vehicle license, there is no need to change the license after changing to the new UI No. However, for the correctness of the vehicle registration information, the vehicle owner is still requested to go to the supervisory authority for registration of the change of the new UI No.

After I change to the new UI No., will it affect the payment of fines? Who can I contact about any related questions?
Answer:
1. After changing to the new UI No., if you want to pay a fine that is dated prior to the change of number, you must still use the original UI No. to pay it.
However, for the correctness of the vehicle and driver registration information, the violators is still requested to go to the supervisory authority for registration of the change of the new UI No.

Question:
Can I book air tickets with the new and original UI No.’s?
Answer:
All international flights are booked with a passport number. Some domestic flights – those of Daily Air, Uni Air and Mandarin Airlines – can also be booked with a UI No.

Question:
After I change to the new UI No., will I be able to use the airport self-service check-in kiosks?
Answer:
1. Passengers on Daily Air flights who have the new UI No. can use the airport self-service check-in kiosks. For related questions, please contact the airline (call 07-806-9397 or 089-362-676).
2. Passengers on Uni Air and Mandarin Airlines flights who are foreign nationals cannot use the airport self-service check-in kiosks, but must go to the airport counters to check in in person. After I change to the new UI No., will I be able to purchase air tickets through airlines’ official websites and convenience store ticket-purchase systems? Who can I contact about any related questions?
Answer:
1. Airlines’ official websites: The official websites of Uni Air, Mandarin Airlines and Daily Air can all accept the new UI No.
2. Convenience store ticket-purchase systems:
(1) You can use convenience store ticket-purchase systems for Uni Air and Mandarin Airlines flights.
(2) Daily Air has not yet provided a convenience store ticket-purchase service.

After I change to the new UI No., can I use it for car rentals? Will the record of my previous rentals still exist? Who can I contact about any related questions?
Answer:
1. Foreigners can use the new UI No. to rent a car. Their record of past car rentals will still exist, and if they wish to check it, they can do so by using their original UI No. or the mobile phone number or email address they used to register as members.
