Question:
After I change to the new UI No., do I need to take the initiative to update my bank account information? Or will it be updated automatically? If I need to do it, will I have to pay any charge? Who can I contact about any related questions?
Answer:
After the bank receives notification of the change to the new UI No., it will either contact the customer about attending to the update, or will directly update the customer information itself, according to its internal operating procedures. The customer will not need to proactively go to the bank counter to effect the update, and there will not be any charge for it. If you have any questions about this, you can contact your bank. You can find each bank’s contact number and website link in the Financial Institutions Directory on the Banking Bureau website at https://www.banking.gov.tw/en/home.jsp?id=145&parentpath=0,100,111

After I change to the new UI No., do I need to take the initiative to update my insurance information? Or will it be updated automatically? If I need to do it, will I have to pay any charge? Who can I contact about any related questions?
Answer:
After changing to the new UI No., the policyholder should notify the insurance company to effect the update, and can also inform the insurance company about it when extending or making changes to an insurance contract. No fee will be payable for the updating. If a policyholder has any related questions, they can consult the policy service staff or call the insurance company’s service hotline:

Question:
After I change to the new UI No., will it affect my rights to buy and sell stocks? Also, will stocks that I previously purchased through a securities account set up with my original UI No. still exist? Who can I contact about any related questions?
Answer:
After an investor changes to the new UI No., if they have not gone to their securities firm counter to update their basic information (such as ARC number), all of their stocks purchased through a securities account set up with their original UI No. will still exist, and they can keep on trading normally. The original rights and interests pertaining to their securities account will not be affected. However, it is suggested that, after changing to the new UI No., an investor should update their information at their securities firm, to facilitate the use of the new UI No. and safeguard their investment rights and interests. If you have any questions about this, you can contact the securities firm with which you have an account. Securities firms’ service phone numbers are listed under “Information of Securities Firms” on the Taiwan Stock Exchange website at https://www.twse.com.tw/en/brokerService/brokerServiceAudit

Question:
After I change to the new UI No., can I open an account and apply for a credit card online?
Answer:
Banks have already adjusted their internal information systems in conformity with the issuance of the new UI No.’s. But since it belongs within the scope of a bank’s operational independence whether it offers online services for account opening and credit card application, the document submission requirements and qualifying criteria are up to each bank to decide for itself. If you have any questions about this, you can contact the bank concerned. The contact information for all banks can be found on the Banking Bureau website at https://www.banking.gov.tw/en/home.jsp?id=145&parentpath=0,100,111
