Expanding Services Through Online and In-Person Outreach
Originally established as an information portal, the IFI Network has gradually expanded to bring together multilingual information, empowerment resources, and a diverse range of exchange activities. These services help new immigrants adjust to life in Taiwan, build their capabilities, and broaden opportunities for themselves and their families. Through both online and in-person activities, IFI Network also presents government policies in accessible and practical formats. In recent years, it has organized the online anti-fraud campaign “Don’t Become a Tool for Scammers,” helping new immigrants recognize common scams and learn how to protect themselves. It has also partnered with new immigrant organizations to hold the in-person “IFI Network Printmaking Art Workshop,” combining hands-on art experiences with multicultural exchange.
Expanding Services to Overseas Compatriot and International Students and International Talent
As Taiwan advances its policies to attract and retain talent, the IFI Network has gradually expanded its services to include information for overseas compatriot and international students as well as international talent. Representatives from the National Development Council, Workforce Development Agency of the Ministry of Labor, and other government agencies were also invited to today’s event to explain and exchange views on Taiwan’s talent attraction and retention policies, employment opportunities in Taiwan for overseas compatriot and international students, and the diversified eligibility pathways for permanent residency, helping students better understand the information they need to pursue their future development in Taiwan.
The NIA said the IFI Network will continue to integrate information across central government agencies and local governments while further strengthening its multilingual services. Through these efforts, it aims to help new immigrants and international talent access the information they need in Taiwan, build their capabilities, and participate more fully in Taiwanese society, contributing together to a diverse and inclusive society in which all can thrive.
