Illegal Cross-Border Matchmaking Ads Face Fines of NT$100,000 to NT$500,000, NIA Warns The National Immigration Agency (NIA) has recently identified more than ten cases involving individuals and migrant workers posting illegal advertisements on Facebook and other social media platforms to promote cross-border matchmaking services. These cases have been referred to the Review Committee for administrative penalties.According to the NIA, the Immigration Act prohibits any form of advertising for cross-border (international) matchmaking services. Violators are subject to fines ranging from NT$100,000 to NT$500,000. The NIA urges both the public and migrant workers not to engage in such activities to avoid legal penalties.
