The National Immigration Agency (NIA) has recently identified more than ten cases involving individuals and migrant workers posting illegal advertisements on Facebook and other social media platforms to promote cross-border matchmaking services. These cases have been referred to the Review Committee for administrative penalties.According to the NIA, the Immigration Act prohibits any form of advertising for cross-border (international) matchmaking services. Violators are subject to fines ranging from NT$100,000 to NT$500,000. The NIA urges both the public and migrant workers not to engage in such activities to avoid legal penalties.
