To ensure media accessibility rights for new immigrants, the National Immigration Agency (NIA) has launched a brand-new version of its radio program “The Power of New Immigrants” starting August 1, 2025. The updated program covers a wide range of topics that matter most to new immigrants—including employment, transportation, healthcare, food, education, and welfare. Live interviews with hosts add an engaging touch, while the “Life Express” segment shares timely updates on current events, trends, and practical life information. The program’s official Facebook fan page will also offer multilingual content to better meet the diverse needs of new immigrants and enhance interactivity and vibrancy. The hosting team includes ten professional broadcasters, such as Ho Feng-hsin, originally from Indonesia and a former Indonesian-language TV anchor, and Wen Ya-fang, a second-generation new immigrant and past Golden Bell Awards nominee with experience as a program producer for new immigrant media. The production team is composed of seasoned professionals in broadcasting and media planning. Together, they aim to spotlight the unique life experiences of new immigrants from various countries, crafting a new chapter of inspiring stories about pursuing and realizing dreams in Taiwan. The program airs every Friday and Saturday at 2:00 p.m. on the Police Broadcasting Service (PBS), FM104.9, with regional broadcasts across Taoyuan, Hsinchu, and Miaoli on IC Radio (FM97.5) every Tuesday and Wednesday at 12:00 noon. Each episode runs for 15 minutes and is also available on major podcast platforms including Apple Podcast, Spotify, and YouTube Music. To further empower new immigrants and their children, the production team will also offer professional broadcasting workshops.
