How does a foreign laborer renew or apply for an ARC?(Serial No. 0901)

Receiving units: The local NIA’s service center.
II.Required documents (verify the original and take its copy).
1. A completed application form.
2. A passport with resident visa.
3. For the first time petitioner: A Work Permit issued by the Council of Labor Affairs,a roster of foreign laborers, an In-service Certificate (with stamps of the company and person-in-charge), and a fingerprint card.
4. For renewal: A Work Permit issued by the Council of Labor Affairs, an In-service Certificate (with stamps of the company and person-in-charge).
5. One 2’’ x 2’’ colored photo, front head and shoulder, taken within the past year.
6. Certificate fees: One-year term: NT$1,000.
III. Processing time: 10 workdays.
IV. Notes:
1. Those first time foreign applicants who are domestic helpers or care givers shall appear at the local NIA’s service center personally.
2. If a foreign laborer cannot obtain a Work Permit for extension issued by the Council of Labor Affairs before the expiry date, their employer may temporarily apply for extension by submitting relevant documents as follows:
  (1) A Receipt Letter of the Council of Labor Affairs.
  (2) A copy of passport or ARC.
  (3) An In-service Certificate.
  (4) An Authorization Statement.
