e-Gate Enrollment

Residents aged 12 or above and at least 140cm height who belong to one of the following categories are eligible for free enrollment to use automated immigration clearance system (e-Gate) in Taiwan:
1. Foreign residents or permanent residents with multiple re-entry permit on one of these following identity cards: Alien Resident Certificate (ARC), Alien Permanent Resident Certificate (APRC), or Employment Gold Card.
2. Foreign diplomats or staff of international organizations holding Diplomatic Identification Card issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, R.O.C. (Taiwan).
3. Nationals without registered permanent residence in the Taiwan Area, holding R.O.C. (Taiwan) Resident Certificate or entry permit.
4. Hong Kong & Macau residents with multiple re-entry permit on one of these following identity cards: R.O.C. (Taiwan) Resident Certificate or Employment Gold Card.
5. People of the Mainland China Area holding R.O.C. (Taiwan) Resident Certificate with multiple re-entry permit.
For Travelers from Partner Countries in Reciprocal Use of e-Gate
An e-passport holder from one of the partner countries on a visit (tour, business, etc.) to R.O.C. (Taiwan) is eligible for enrollment to use e-Gate. However, the enrollment criteria and process may vary depending on countries. Please check the link below for more information:
1. U.S.A. e-passport holders with valid Global Entry membership.
2. South Korea e-passport holders.
3. Australian e-passport holders.
4. Italian e-passport holders.
5. German e-passport holders.
6. Singapore e-passport holders.

*Please take noted that self-enrollment within e-Gate is only include foreign residents or permanent residents with multiple re-entry permit on their Alien Resident Certificate (ARC) or Alien Permanent Resident Certificate (APRC).
1. Taipei Songshan Airport:
(1) Self-enrollment within e-Gate.*
(2) The NIA service counter in the arrival hall (within the control area): service times may vary depending on the flight schedules.
(3) The NIA service counter in the departure hall (within the control area): service times may vary depending on the flight schedules.
(4) The NIA service counter in the Terminal 1 in the departure hall on the first floor (outside the control area and next to the convenience store): from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.
2. Terminal 1 of Taoyuan International Airport:
(1) Self-enrollment within e-Gate.*
(2) The NIA service counter in the arrival hall (within the control area): from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily.
(3) The NIA service counter next to the Bank of Taiwan in the departure hall on the third floor (outside the control area): from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
3. Terminal 2 of Taoyuan International Airport:
(1) Self-enrollment within e-Gate.*
(2) The NIA service counter opposite the M.O.F.A. counter in the arrival hall (within the control area): from 5:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily.
(3) The NIA service counter in the arrival hall (within the control area): from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily.
(4) The NIA service counter in front of the No.19 check-in counter in the departure hall (outside the control area): from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
4. Taichung International Airport:
(1) The NIA service counter in the arrival hall (within the control area): service times may vary depending on the flight schedules.
(2) The NIA service counter in the departure hall (within the control area): service times may vary depending on the flight schedules.
(3) The NIA service counter at the International Terminal on the first floor (the same direction with the Domestic Terminal; opposite the animal and plant quarantine counter): from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
5. Kaohsiung International Airport:
(1) Self-enrollment within e-Gate.*
(2) The NIA service counter in the arrival hall (within the control area): from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
(3) The NIA service counter on the third floor (outside the control area and next to the nursing station): from 5:20 a.m. to the time that departure flight check-in procedure ends daily.
6. Shuitou Port that belongs to Kinmen Domestic Commercial Harbor
(1) Self-enrollment within e-Gate.*
(2) The NIA service counters at the arrival/departure hall: service times may vary depending on the vessel schedules.
7. Keelung Port:
(1) Self-enrollment within e-Gate.*

1. Self-enrollment for e-Gate, starting from November 1, 2022, is only include foreign residents or permanent residents with multiple re-entry permit on their Alien Resident Certificate (ARC) or Alien Permanent Resident Certificate (APRC).
2. To enroll, you will be required by the NIA officer to present a valid passport and have your photo and index fingerprints taken by the NIA at an enrollment counter in Taiwan.
3. Re-enrollment is required if you renew/replace your passport or R.O.C. (Taiwan) Resident Certificate.
