How does a foreigner apply for overstay exit?(Serial No. 0905)

I.Receiving units: The local NIA’s service center/specialized brigade
II. Required documents (verifying the original and take its copy).
1. A completed application form.
2.A passport with resident visa.
3.Pay the fine of overstay at the local NIA’s service center.
III. Notes:
1. Applicants, other than minors and those who are serious illness, shall complete the process personally.
2.Illegal foreign workers shall submit Income Tax/Tax-exempt Certificates.
3.Foreigners who have overstayed less than 90 days may either go to the local NIA’s service center or the NIA’s airport/harbor brigades to apply for an exit permit. If foreigners have overstayed more than 91 days, they shall go to the local NIA’s specialized brigade to make a statement of their overstay, and then go to the local NIA’s service center to pay the fine and apply for an exit permit.
4. Penalties:
(1) Foreigners who have overstayed their stay for 1~10 days are subject to a fine of NT$2,000.
(2)Foreigners who have overstayed their stay for 11~30 days are subject to a fine fine of NT$4,000.
(3)Foreigners who have overstayed their stay for 31~60 days are subject to a fine of NT$6,000.
(4)Foreigners who have overstayed their stay for 61~90 days are subject to a fine of NT$8,000.
(5) Foreigners who have overstayed their stay for above and over 91 days are subject to a fine of NT$10,000.
(6) Minors aged below 14 are exempt from the penalty; while those aged between 14 and 18 are subject to a fine cut by half.
